Sara Hecker

Trained as a photographer, Sara is a self taught abstract artist. With an eye for color and a curious nature, she is continuously driven to develop and evolve her artistic journey through play and experimentation, rarely having a pre-planned outcome for the finished piece. Getting lost in the creative process allows for the relationships between the colors, layers, and will of the paint to organically come together. 

Originally from Greenville, NC, she graduated from UNC Greensboro with a BA in Art History. She received her MA in Art History at the Savannah College of Art and Design where she focused on Russian Modernism and the Soviet. She studied in St. Petersburg, Russia under the School of Russian and Asian Studies custom abroad program.
