"My paintings are meant to be an interpretation of a place and time, capturing the feeling of the scene. My goal is to create visually stimulating paintings by savoring the light, shadow and color, and representing it for the viewer.

I utilize acrylic, oil paints, and oil sticks in my painting process and employ various surfaces and techniques in order to reach the desired result.

Many of my paintings are of rural North Carolina as well as the eastern U.S. coast.  My travels have included Italy where I draw inspiration from the light and color of the countryside and the rural beauty of its hills and villages."
