Ann Hair

Ann Hair is an award winning artist who draws her inspiration and palette from nature but enjoys tweaking the colors a bit and turning them up a notch. "I particularly enjoy capturing the play of light and shadows cast by brilliant early morning or late afternoon light."

Currently living on the coast of North Carolina, she finds inspiration everywhere. Oceans, rivers, and marshes are favorite subjects as well as people enjoying themselves on area beaches.

A graduate of Daemen College's fine arts program in Buffalo, NY, Hair has continued her studies with nationally known artists. Her work has won awards in national and local juried shows and is in collections worldwide.

“My latest challenge is to capture the landscape or figure, “alla prima” (in one sitting). This brings energy, freshness and excitement to the work.”
